High above the Denver metro, in Gilpin County, Max Monclair lives in the woods with mountain men & women, bears, coyotes, and the occasional moose as neighbors. For most of his life, he has cultivated interests in nature, urban landscapes, the cultures of the world, literature, music, visual arts and studying mass media.
Currently, he divides his time working as a software developer, hiking, taking care of his family and pets, and writing the next great novel. All proceeds from the sale of his photography on this site go to support his backcountry wandering habit.
